Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
Book Jacket Design
I decided to change the initial competition brief of a flat book sleeve to a completely open brief to enable me to be free and experiment with my ideas.
I designed a wooden book focusing on bright colours, texture and geometric shapes with the intention of catching a child’s eye when sat on a bookshelf.
When I had finished the design I made the actual wooden book using ply wood, acrylic paint and varnish and a flat version to submit to Penguin Design awards.
I also designed and illustrated a short 8 page booklet to go inside the wooden cover.
Ted Baker Autumn Winter 2010
Ted Baker asked for a new Autumn / Winter in store and window theme for 2010.
The theme had to represent irreverent British heritage and the humour and quirkiness of Ted Baker.
I went with the theme of indulgence and traditional british cake baking incorporating the two into a ‘look/cook book’, that showcases the latest Ted Baker collection and gives you tips and recipes of great british indulgent cakes. The models in the photos are surrounded by oversized cakes and shapes that co-inside with the recipes on the facing pages.
The book encourages people to spoil themselves in the winter, you don’t need a reason to indulge.
