A proposal of 3 typographic installations to celebrate the forgotten history of an overlooked part of Falmouth. This project passed ISTD assessment.
Type would be cut out of tarnished brass and mounted on an archway that was once the entrance to one of Falmouth’s oldest beer shops.
Lists of people who once lived in the area would be etched into plates
of tarnished brass and mounted along the wall of an alleyway, while
four stanzas of a traditional poem would appear square cut into slate
and set into the floor.
Type would be cut out of maple wood and mounted along the wall of a stairway, while lettering would be cut into the treads of the 40 granite steps (section shown).
